To add links to the program, copy the link or click “Add New Links” to open the “Analyse and Add Links” window. If you have multiple links, put each link on a new line or click “File” > “Load link container” to select a text file containing links.

You can also customize additional file options:

• Click “Browse” to choose where to save the downloaded file
• Enter a name for the file or folder containing the files in “Enter a package name”
• Auto-extract files after downloading (if password-protected) in the “Enter the archive’s extraction password” box
• Enter a password if the file link is protected in the “Enter a password protected links” box

Finally, click “Continue” and switch to the “Link Grabber” tab. Here, JDownloader 2 will check the link status for you. Check the “Availability” column to see if the link is still active.

JDownloader 2 supports extracting components from links and allows you to download those files as desired. Click the plus button on the link to view components, for example, a YouTube video link will show video link, audio link, thumbnail link, etc. Then, right-click the file you want to download > select “Start Downloads.”

When downloading starts, open the Downloads tab to monitor progress. If downloading from YouTube, JDownloader 2 will ask you to install FFmpeg.
